Historic buildings can require quite intense work. We replaced the exterior balcony door with an exact replica that was required to be lifted from the exterior and up 113ft. Getting a crane was not an option.

Job Description:
During a condo renovation, it was found that an exterior balcony door had failed and could not be repaired. However, the only issue is that the Historic Committee would not allow us to change door styles to a knock-down door. This required everything to be completed from the exterior of the building.

This building, in particular, is located on a side street that would have required an extremely tall crane that isn’t even available in our area. So we had to think outside of the box for a solution for our clients that was 1) Cost-prohibitive 2) Manageable during the daytime 3) Able to be completed in a timely manner
Being that the door was over 10ft tall, there was no way to bring it up stairs, up the elevator, or by any other means. Innovex worked with Vertical Access Professionals out of Tennessee to create a lifting plan and a cradle for the door.
After a long day, fun problem solving the door made it to the balcony after traveling a cumulative distance of 113ft from the ground to the top of the building before resting on the balcony for the evening.
